Dear Jane al día

Ayer, gracias al Carnaval, fue día de descanso en mi ciudad. Después de varios meses con mal tiempo, lluvia y mucho frío, estamos disfrutando de un pequeño verano que ya dura una semana. Aprovechando el buen tiempo y que Nacho no trabajaba, nos fuimos a dar un paseo por la playa de Riazor, que está a 5 minutos de nuestra casa.
Yesterday, thanks to the Carnival, it was day of rest in my city. After several months with badly time, rain and a lot of cold, we are enjoying of a small summer that already lasts one week. Taking advantage the good time and that Nacho wasn't working, we went away to give a walk along Riazor's beach, which is to 5 minutes of our house.



Así que sólo he cosido un poco hoy, pero he terminado el último bloque del Dear Jane que me quedaba para ponerme al día en el SAL.

Todavía tengo resaca de Oscar, así que me tomé el día con calma y me dediqué a los bloques atrasados del Dear Jane. Los dos últimos publicados por Georgina son muy fáciles, empecé por esos, me queda otro algo más complicado que dejaré para mañana, en Galicia es día de descanso y podré coser más tranquila.

Es increíble! Vi la ceremonia de los Oscar entera, disfruté mucho viendo los vestidos y peinados de las celebrities, acerté casi todos mis pronósticos (no quería que Penélope Cruz ganase pero hacía semanas que sabíamos que iba a suceder), sólo fallé el mejor actor, y ganó Sean Penn, que también tenía un 9 en mis pronósticos, pero lo mejor de todo es que ganó Slumdog Millionaire demostrando que con poco se puede hacer mucho. No sé como lo hacen los adolescentes, pero después de dormir 4 horas me duele todo el cuerpo y la cabeza me va a explotar: me estoy haciendo mayor?

It is incredible! I saw the ceremony of Oscar, I enjoyed very much seeing the dresses and hairdoes of the celebrities, I succeeded almost all my predictions (I didn't want that Penélope Cruz was winning but was doing weeks that we knew that was going to happen), only I failed the best actor, and there won Sean Penn, who also had 9 in my predictions, but the best of all is that win Slumdog Millionaire demonstrating that with little it is possible to to make great. Gala Oscar 2009

La última película que vimos en el cine es "El luchador", de Mickey Rourke. No me gusta como actor y no quería ir a verla, pero reconozco que se merece el premio y espero que se lo den. Es un papel muy duro, pero tierno. No quiero olvidarme de Marisa Tomei, creo que tiene posibilidades, y se lo merece mucho más que Penélope Cruz, ya veremos si hay justicia.
The last movie that we saw in the cinema is " The wrestler ", of Mickey Rourke. I don't like him as actor and I didn't want to see the film, but I admit that the prize is deserved and hope that they give it to him. It is a very hard, but tender role. Primer bloque terminado

Terminé el primer bloque del quilt I Remember, de Rosalie Quinlan. Me costó mucho y al final no he conseguido que me cuadre todo a la perfección, pero estoy muy contenta con el resultado. Espero coger pronto la experiencia que necesito para hacer los trabajos bien del todo, mientras tanto, me conformo con intentarlo.
I finished the first block of the I Remember quilt, by Rosalie Quinlan. It cost me very much and ultimately I have not achieved that it squares everything to the perfection, but I am very satisfied with the result. Acabamos de llegar del cine y todavía estoy impresionada por la película que vimos hoy, Slumdog Millionaire. No voy a contar nada, no quiero estropear la película, así que ahí va mi predicción para los Oscar a falta de ver un par de películas, entre ellas la de Mickey Rourke:

De cine

El patchwork es mi gran pasión, pero comparte corazón con la lectura y el cine. La semana que viene es la entrega de los Oscar, así que hemos decidido hacerlo bien este año y visionar todas las películas nominadas antes de ver la gala en la televisión y dar nuestras votaciones con criterio. Mañana vamos a ver la última, Slumdog Millionaire, pero hoy no podía irme a la cama sin hacer un comentario sobre la protagonita de The Reader, Kate Winslet. Creo, en mi humilde opinión, que es la que merece ese premio por encima de las demás, el papel que hace en esta película es increíble, su expresividad, la intensidad del papel.... espero que se lo lleve por que de todas es la mejor. El domingo os pondré a mis candidatos a los premios.... Buen fin de semana.
